Welcome to Active Animal Rehab!

As a licensed physiotherapist with a Diploma in Canine Rehabilitation, I’m passionate about helping small animals regain mobility and improve their quality of life. Since graduating from Dalhousie University in 2011, I’ve gained extensive experience in diverse settings across PEI, including hospitals and home-based care. My advanced training spans Orthopedic and Neurological conditions, Cancer Rehabilitation, and Vestibular therapy.

When we’re in pain or injured, we seek out the best care—our pets deserve the same. As a key member of your pet’s healthcare team, I work hand-in-hand with you and your veterinarian to address conditions like hip dysplasia, arthritis, disc disease, and CCL tears, ensuring your furry companion gets the tailored care they need.

Together, we can help your beloved companion recover from injury and get back to doing what they love most. From playful puppies to cherished senior pets, I’m here to support your family member every step of the way.

Movement is Medicine: My Journey to Canine Rehabilitation

Like many, I experienced the intense burnout of working in human healthcare during the COVID-19 pandemic. My passion for physiotherapy, however, was rekindled when I discovered the specialization of Canine Rehabilitation.

This new path was inspired by my own aging dog, Zoey, as I desperately wanted to use my skills to help her move and feel her best through her senior years.

Now, with a Diploma in Canine Rehabilitation and my new companion, Nova, I’ve learned a profound truth: the principles for keeping a young dog agile and a senior dog comfortable are remarkably similar.

By promoting the right movement at the right time and focusing on weight management to protect their joints, we can help any dog maintain the mobility and joy of a young pup, no matter their age.
